2006 SPLOST

The 2006 SPLOST Program represents a way for Houston County to raise funds for projects, which would otherwise be paid for by raising property taxes. As a 1 cent sales tax, money is raised for county improvements anytime an item is purchased in Houston County - by residents or by visitors to our county. This means that non-residents will pay a sizable portion of the total tax and not just Houston County citizens.

On March 21, 2006, Houston County passed a continuation of the 2001 SPLOST to fund projects in Centerville, Perry, Warner Robins and unincorporated Houston County. The 2006 SPLOST is a six-year tax estimated to generate $130 Million in revenues. The proceeds of SPLOST funds must be spent for capital (non-operating) items by the county government and participating municipalities within the county.
